Carrier Access Ships 100,000th Adit® 600 Multi-service Delivery Terminal

BOULDER, COLORADO - October 17, 2006 - Carrier Access Corporation (NASDAQ: CACS), a leading provider of converged access solutions, announced the shipment of the 100,000th Adit 600 Multi-service Delivery Terminal. The field-proven Adit 600 continues to implement new levels of converged access performance for an installed base of approximately two million customer lines. This customer base has continuously grown since the Adit 600 product line first started shipments in the Spring of 2000.

With its patented, expandable design, the Adit 600 provides customized, cost-saving solutions to a leading list of wireline and wireless carriers, businesses, and Federal government users. The Adit 600 has evolved into a next-generation multi-service platform that fits in many applications - including a wide variety of VoIP telephone line conversions, traditional TDM 0/1 cross-connect, plus multi-T1 IP router and legacy data conversions.
